CAE’s team was made up from employees of various departments, who put in a great effort to reach the semi finals where they unfortunately ran out of steam. CAE Technology Services successfully project-managed the implementation of a completely new media fibre, data and power cabling infrastructure, which was used for the first time at Saturday’s Wales versus Australia rugby match. The project is the most significant investment in the stadium’s technology since it was opened in 1999 and supports its standing as one of the world’s leading sports venues. The project involved installing 400 large format LCD screens and accompanying media players mounted in the stands, concourses, concession areas and hospitality areas of the stadium, as well as the technology behind the system. Fighting an opponent who had a clear strategy to use his size advantage CAE Sales Director, Jamie, showed all the class his training had given and won the bout on a points decision after three gruelling rounds. Cheered on by some particularly vocal support Jamie achieved the distinction of being the only boxer of the evening to leave his opponent on the canvas following an explosive combination in the 1st round. But he was made to work hard throughout the fight and was justly jubilant after receiving the verdict. "This was a unique opportunity to represent CAE", commented Jamie after the fight, "and to emerge bruised but victorious is a fantastic feeling".
